Handy Household Hints (Part 3)

Lipstick stains away!

Lipstick stains on counters, floors, and on some types of material can be removed with just a few dabs of WD 40.

Handy hanger trick

When packing a skirt for a trip, throw two (2) clothespins into your bag, too. Make sure they are the kind with springs. You can use them to convert a regular wire hanger, like you find in a hotel room, into a skirt hanger.

Coke or Pepsi?
Clogged drain? Pour three (3) cups of warm cola down your drain and let sit overnight; the citric acid will break up any buildup in your pipes. In the a.m., run hot water to help flush the debris.

Bathtub whitener

Restore a yellowed bathtub to its original condition by rubbing with a salt and turpentine solution.

No-leak cracked egg

When boiling eggs, add some vinegar to the water to prevent the white from leaking out a cracked egg.

No-hazard bathroom cleaner
Fill up a spray bottle with white vinegar and spray all over bathroom surfaces. The acid stops mold from growing and kills lingering odors, too.

What, no thinner?
Hardened paint on paintbrushes can be softened by placing in a container of hot vinegar for thirty (30) minutes.

Yo, pet lovers!
Baby wipes are a great way to keep your pets’ ears clean. Gently wipe with baby wipes once a week to avoid ear infection.
