PR: Tree Top Adventure Baguio - Experience The Extreme

Experience extreme adventure and extreme relaxation at Tree Top Adventure Baguio, the only motorized zipline in the Philippines and the only Team Building facility in Baguio. With seven outdoor activities and team building facilities, located within Camp John Hay, surrounded by pine trees and overlooking breathtaking views, Tree Top Adventure Baguio offers an adventure of a lifetime.

For the thrill seekers who want to experience extreme adventure, you might want to experience their Tree Drop in which you’ll be suspended 60 feet above the ground, mission impossible style and you’ll be falling as fast as 2 to 3 seconds. This Tree Top’s most extreme activity costs Php 150.00 only and this is one way to really quench your thirst for adrenaline rush. You might also want to try rides done in pairs: the Superman Ride and Silver Surfer. As the name implies, you’ll be ziplining, Superman Style, 200 meters long, 150 feet above the ground, but instead of doing it just forwards, you would also be ziplining backwards. Silver Surfer is a 60 degree diagonal motorized zipline in which you’ll be standing on a specialized platform and you’ll be gliding up and down for three cycles. Expect that there would be stops and swings for every cycle. For Php 300.00 and Php 200.00 respectively, you could experience what superheroes feel as they fly and glide through the air.

For those who want to experience extreme relaxation, you could try the Canopy and Funicular ride which costs Php350.00. The Canopy is similar to the concept of cable cars, but instead, you’ll be seated on cable chairs in which you’ll be transferring from one station to another until you complete all eight stations. When you reach the station four of the Canopy, you would walk for around 2 to 3 minutes to be able to reach the connecting ride of Canopy which is the Funicular ride. This ride is similar to the concept of elevator, but, instead of standing up, you’ll be seated. This is at least a way for you to conquer your fear of heights. But, if you really have extreme fear of heights, you could just avail the Trekking and Skywalk in which you would walk around Tree Top’s area and go up the skywalk area, or the viewing deck in which you could see the mountains of Itogon, Benguet, the so called, old Baguio before. You could stay at the Skywalk areas long as you want to take pictures and feel the cold breeze.

If your company plans to have a convention or seminar at Baguio, you might want to experience Tree Top's Team Building Activities which includes two high element activities (Tree Drop and Silver Surfer), five low element activities, boodle lunch and facilitators for just Php 800.00 per head only. The activities would really challenge each member and how they work with their workmates. Work and play, as the cliché says!

You might also want to try another branch of Tree Top Adventure Subic located at the JEST Area, Upper Mau Cubi Point Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

Metascreen: A Guard Against ‘Sudden Death’

Nearly one baby every hour each day dies abruptly. An estimated 7,000 babies die each year without warning.

Parents are left clueless after the death as the possible causes remain unknown even after undergoing autopsy. All because of the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
SIDS is the unexplained death of babies usually occurring during sleep and striking under unexpected circumstances.

Even a healthy one-year old baby may be a victim of the condition which is often simply attributed to physical and environmental factors.

Studies have shown that babies with physical conditions including brain abnormalities, low birth weight and respiratory infection have higher risk of dying an unexplained death.

Review: Splash Math iTunes App

1-5

Introducing Pre-School and Kindergarten Splash Math

It is a great app that combines fun and learning at the same time. Kids will totally learn counting skills, basic math concepts.

This app allows kids to get started with Math practice in a fun way. Ideal for kids 3-6 years in age, it’s a superb math game for kids in preschool and kindergarten. It's good to know that there is an app that helps little kids and toddlers be on the right track so that they will have a very good foundation, specifically in Math concepts.

I will recommend these to my other friends with kids. It will be a good investment.

Introducing Splash Math For Grade 1 to 5

For more than 15 years of my life as a student, I know for fact that one of the challenges of most of the students is the Mathematics subject. That is why more schools today are really focusing on that particular subject.

And as a math enthusiast, I know by experience that practice makes perfect. Working through a workbook with endless number of problems can really help hone your skills. But, in this iPad era, it would be great if instead of physical workbooks, we can have apps to help us instead. Truly, technology is really playing a good role today.

Splash Math - Grade 1to 5 is a workbook app that provides math exercises for your kids - on my case, my siblings. They are both in elementary level so the app is really a perfect help for their math problems. It is a collection of fun (underwater theme) and interactive math problems.  The apps are grade-specific making it easy for students to practice math skills applicable on their level.

What I like most about this app is that the lessons are very comprehensive, very modern, and user-friendly. The app features many chapters that cover over 300 skills that grade 1 to 5 students will learn in Math. All of this is in line with elementary educational standards.

Because of the updated version, this app is better now at keeping a child's attention. I must say that this app either your iPad or iPhone into a fun and enjoyable learning center for your kids.

I love this app mainly because of the storyteller being so engaging. Plus the fantastic graphics will surely make the little kids stay much longer and will be willing to learn more.

I also love the fact that this app helps little kids and toddlers to develop early reading skills. They also encourage language development which will be really a good foundation for future.

As soon as I've finished downloading this app, my goddaughter who just turned two years old, grabbed already my iPad and started playing with it. Her initial reaction was smiling from ear to ear. I know that she's totally enjoying it mainly because of the graphics.

This app is really an educational boost. I love how Kids Academy combine fun and learning at the same time. This is definitely a must-have on my iPad.

Preschool Kindergarten Learning Kids Games

I also let my other niece try this app and even up to this moment, they still can't get enough of the delightful animations that are very interacting at their own pace.

What I also like about this app is the curriculum itself. It is developed and reviewed  by preschool education expert. Well, that really assures me that I will have no regrets in letting my nieces nephews try this app.

It's great for teaching her how to write her letters and numbers. It also teaches her letter sounds and matches pictures with sounds. The graphics are bright and colorful and is able to hold her attention for some time. The app has a variety of different games to choose from so they won't get bored with the same old activity.

Magnitude 6 Earthquake Jolted Luzon

As I was writing this post, I'm awake for 20 hours now. I was watching youtube videos when suddenly I felt something, I thought I was already hallucinating. Haha. But when I fired up Google to really confirm before I post any status on Facebook, I realized it was an earthquake.

A magnitude 6 earthquake hit Luzon before dawn with state seismologists warning of possible aftershocks as per the  Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Tectonic in origin, this quake struck  at a depth of 85 kilometers.

Phivolcs said the following intensities were felt:
Intensity IV (moderately strong) - Pasig City; Pasay City; Manila City; Quezon City; Hagonoy,
Bulacan; Makati City; San Mateo, Rizal; Obando, Bulacan
Intensity III (weak) - Tagaytay City; San Miguel, Tarlac
Intensity II (slightly felt) - Baguio City; Batangas City

Phivolcs said Intensity IV is "felt generally by people indoors and by some people outdoors. Light sleepers are awakened. Vibration is felt like a passing of heavy truck. Hanging objects swing considerably.Dinner, plates, glasses, windows and doors rattle. Floors and walls of wood framed buildings creak. Standing motor cars may rock slightly. Liquids in containers are slightly disturbed. Water in containers oscillate strongly. Rumbling sound may sometimes be heard."

As per tweeter update from Phivolcs, quake will not cause damage but is expected to produce aftershocks.

My own experience is that some of my books dropped, my glass of water beside me was really shaking. I was really frightened a while ago so I woke up my partner (since I'm the only one awake). But since she's still sleepy head, I didn't tell her the story yet.

Stay safe, everyone. Now I really need to sleep. :)

Radical Obedience - The Right Step

Be careful what you do, and always do what is right (Proverbs 4:26, NCV).

Obedience puts us on solid ground.

God does not ask us for a season of obedience. He wants a lifestyle of obedience.

Will Rogers once said, “Live your life in such a way, that you would not be ashamed to sell your parrot to the town gossip.”

King Solomon said it this way in Proverbs 3:6-7: “Remember the Lord in all you do, and He will give you success. Don't depend on your own wisdom. Respect the LORD and refuse to do wrong.”

Obedience is remembering and choosing God in everything we do, choosing to walk in His steps, and following the path He has set for us.

Obedience calls us to live like citizens of a future world, guarding each step to make sure it matches the step of God. Not out of fear - but out of love. Not because man observes and keeps score, but because God sees you through eyes of love, and because we want to please Him.

Peter 1:14 (NLT) “Obey God because you are His children. Don't slip back into your old ways of doing evil; you didn't know any better then.”

We cannot come to Christ and keep responding to the world in the same way. When we truly encounter the living God, our behavior will change along with our perspective, our standards, our motives – everything.

Paul says that when we come to Christ, we become “a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17, NIV). This holy discipline sounds like an impossible and overwhelming command. It is – unless it is fueled by the power of God in and through us.

God has already been where He wants us to go. All we have to do is look for Him, watch His steps and follow them – right across the finish line. Discipline your steps, making sure that they match His.

Let’s Pray.

Father, I want to obey You. Forgive me when I let fear keep me from walking in Your steps or when I listen for the voice of others instead of Yours. Give me a hunger and thirst for Your Word. Help me grow up in You and become a mature believer whose life illustrates a radical obedience to God.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
