English Catastrophes: SPELLING GONE WRONG

These are just some words that are usually misspelled. Remember, misused or misspelled words can be a big embarrassment , and can be a stain in our reputation. :)

1. ACCOMMODATE - Remember, this word is large enough to accommodate both double "c" AND a double "m".
2. BROCCOLI - You don't have to like broccoli to spell it correctly woth two Cs and one L.
3. COMMITTED - If you are committed to correct spelling, you will remember that this word doubles its final "t" from "commit" to "committed".
4. EMBARRASS - This one won' t embarrass you if you remember that it is large enough for a double "r" and a double "s".

5. HUMOROUS - Humor us by spelling this word humorous: don't forget the O and the U.
6. MINUSCULE - Since something minuscule is smallemthan a miniature, should not they be spelled similarly? Less than cool, or "minus cule".
7. MISCHIEVOUS - The mischievous word holds two traps: "i" before "e" and "o" before "u".  Four of the five vowelsin English reside here.
8. NEIGHBOR - Just remember: the neigh of the horse plus -bor and you will always spell this word correctly.
9. OCCASION- now is the good occasion to remember that this word has two Cs and one S.
